Objectifs pédagogiques

This course in an introduction to corporate finance and capital markets. It provides participants with a good understanding on topics such as project and company valuation, real options, measuring risks and return, stock pricing and the performance of trading strategies, corporate financing policy, the cost of capital and risk management.

Contenu de la formation

  • The place of finance and the role of financial markets in the corporation life.
  • The basic tools used in making decisions in corporate finance : time value of money, risk and return, financial statements analysis, valuation.
  • Investment decisions (criteria, capital budgeting, decision process, the option to invest) : the operational side of the corporation
  • Financing decisions and financial markets : the financial side of the corporation
  • the capital structure with the debt policy, the hybrid products and the dividend decision,
  • interactions of the investment decisions and the financing decisions through the cash flow routes and the cost of capital (debt and equity) and beyond  through the  corporate development capacities and corporate value.
  • basic concepts and organization of financial markets with  interest rate markets, stocks markets, options, hybrid products, currency markets, valuation concepts and methods, recent moves.
  • Further topics : mergers & acquisitions and corporate governance
